The issues of “Doing what I want.”

In our globalized culture, to do “what I want” is synonymous of freedom. It is the “seal of acceptance” of any mainstream spirituality, that is spirituality for the masses.

The movement of rebellion against any type of system is the representation of the “I do what I want” logo.

Few will realize that the “normal” person merely repeats what he has been taught. Conditioning has many layers and although outwardly many will profess to be free from some hang up or trauma, the fact is that self-knowledge is not something typically for the masses to take up. At least, while the thought of “I do what I want” prevails.

Being confined in the system of the “I” is not freedom at all. For instance, many times we will act based on some thought of the way that “ I use to act” in a similar condition. We call that “consistency.” Through that it is easy for others to know what to expect. I recall the person who walks every day through the same place at noon, while the church clock sounds or the person who does not respond to e-mails until the night, for that it his “policy.” We become predictable and as we open up in consciousness, we will see how big of an obstacle that “predictability” could be, which is a golden jail of perceived security.

Anything that asserts the “I” becomes individuation, which separates from the rest. This is not something bad for it it is necessary in society, but it will add up in building the ego unless it is observed.

“I do what I want” is the jail of the self, for the unaware individual.

Yoga of the mind

Out of the mind, there is “improvement” without trying to improve.
Out of the mind, there is “spirituality,” without trying to be “spiritual.” Yet, we say “You are out of your mind” to someone who acts in a crazy way. However, craziness is 100% mind.

Our society and religions are all caught up with the mind.
Although, most individuals at this time have mental issues, these individuals are unable to observe those, for their own mind is their only point of reference. They are self-absorved. The mind creates a strong sense of “I.”

Forcing the mind to see things which it does not perceive is dishonest, although we call that “spiritual.” Trapped in the comfort of “status quo,” that is a sure way to create stagnation of the mind, lethargy.

The mind is only a tool. However, at this time; it is the master for most of civilized humanity.

“Yoga of the mind” is uncertain, once we are aware of what our minds are doing to us.
Without that awareness, it becomes a discipline by force to pretend to attain something which is not attainable, but we can label as “spiritual.”

“Yoga” as Brahma Kumaris refers to, is natural once the mind is out of the picture.

“Not to think” is a level of consciousness that those used to thinking everything are unable to understand. When we connect to Life, thinking is not needed, that connection is clear. There are no doubts. There are no “goals.” It is what is.
When we use our thinking, is only about what is “good for me.” 
That “good for me” is heavily conditioned. Therefore, to be “better” within the realm of the mind is an illusion. 

Observe the mind. Become aware of your own mind in your every action. Once you know what mind is, then you will know what is not. There resides a different experience.

Message 7: Predestination and the Cycle of Time.

For some consciousness, we are all ONE.
Who is predestined then?
That ONE changes through its full range. That is known as the “cycle of time.” If there wouldn’t be any change, then there wouldn’t be any movement. Without movement, there is no Life.

Because there is Life in that ONE, then it changes.
Who is predestined then?
When that ONE is divided in many. Then “I” appears. Then “I” will be sleeping in the belief that there is free will or predestination for “I” cannot see the ONE.
It is all appearances, illusions when we look at things from the “unlimited” from the ONE.  Is god the ONE?  I am not referring to that one. I am referring to Everyone.

 Predestination is for the many. “God” is predestined. “We” are predestined. Although, our consciousness says that we have “free will.” Believe in whatever you want. Even in the “I.”

What is the value of knowing about predestination?
Little. Unless we are ready to OBSERVE, for then we will not be caught up with definitions, concepts and thought.
Most don’t want to OBSERVE. Most want to believe in the “truth.”
Do you want to hurt the “I”? That is predestination.
Do you want to pamper the “I”? That is free will.

Oh, truth seekers! Where is the truth that you shall find?

Find the “reality” of the “I.”

Worship “reasoning” to find “truth.”

If we could experience that our consciousness will give us a particular experience, then it will be very hard to pinpoint something as the “truth.”
“Reason” is only a methodology to grasp certainty at the mental level. Reason is very superficial when we are dealing with the depth of Life. Nevertheless, most individuals rely on “reason” as the standard to find “truth,” what is “right.”

Religions such as Brahma Kumaris and Christianity, have built their “truth” based on follower’s interpretations of experiences lived by their religious founders.
The “Holy Bible” and the BK Murli are examples of that. They can only convey a particular perspective from a certain consciousness.

If someone uses “rationality” to explore the Bible of the Murli, pretty soon there will be certain items which do not fit the rational standard.
Then, their messages are discarded as “irrational.”
We could argue all we want about the “truth” behind the Bible or the BK Murli. It is a very good mind exercise and nothing else.

The Bible and the BK Murli are not meant to be dissected with rationality. They are meant to be followed, believed, respected. Those documents become the center stage, the source of authority to replace a missing presence of a God.
“Blind faith” is required to go fully into their path.

Unfortunately, this great opportunity to awaken to different kind of realities, doesn’t bring that benefit most of the time; but rather a “hard-nosed” follower who believes to have the “truth” or the chance to control followers for different purposes not related with inner-exploration.

Going through the experience of whatever label/religion we believe to BE, is what will bring change in the individual.

Whenever we embrace something like a religion or lack of it (atheist,) we will position ourselves at the starting point of our search in Life. The complete experience will be, once we reject that which we embraced at the beginning. That is the way of duality.
This is not a mental agreement and then a rejection. Your whole BEING will be in it.

BEING caught up in the existence of a God or lack of it, is of no consequence to change of consciousness and as such, to the possibility to self-realize.

Once the search for God is over, there is no-God. But once no-God is embraced, then there must be God. That is the game of duality.
Beyond that game, there is “I,” self.
That is where the search may finish until we find “no-I.”

Then, the search is over for there is nothing to search for a “nobody.”

Yes. It is hard to understand. It is no rational. Thus, it is nonsense.
The mind is caught up with itself.
There are no “holy scriptures” or beliefs or lack of them that could take a person into the openness which is necessary to feel fulfilled in Life.

Living Life experiences will do that. However, since those are too frequent, we dismiss their value. We are not awoken to OBSERVE the movements of Life and consciousness.
We rather have a mental story in our minds backed up by rationality or lack of, to believe in.

We are so “happy” by seeing pictures of a meal, rather than experiencing the meal itself. We try to search on how to quench our thirst, what is the “true method,” to do that rather than having the experience of drinking.

Paradoxically, if you embrace thirst, satiation of thirst will follow… but then after that, thirst will be experienced again. How to get rid of thirst?
By not making it into a “rational problem.”

Your consciousness dictates your “God.”

I’d like to clarify my previous article. Avyakt7 NG will not go into the question: Does God really exist? Sometimes, I will insinuate “yes,” but at other times, “no.”

It is not a matter of “yes” or “no” and then a line of believers and non-believers aligned with their belief. No!
I shared before that “truth” doesn’t matter a bit. What matters is consciousness.
When I say “truth,” I refer to the stories and beliefs that every religion has about their gods, origins, salvation, etc. and as a consequence, the existence of the stories of the “deniers” of god, labeled as “atheists;” and the ones in the middle ground, labeled as “agnostics,” as well as the “scientists” searching for “evidence.”
All of that search of “truth” means quite a bit for humans trapped in their minds. Their “truth” is what these individuals are willing to defend, debate with others, convince others, recruit others and even put their lives at risk. That will give them a “reason” to exist.

Reality is, it is all about them, the “I.”
The main ego booster statement is :“I” have the “truth”.                                                                                                             Avyakt7-NG only shares his experiences. Avyakt7-NG has already  fully gone through the experience of finding “God,” finding the “truth” and also their opposites. Avyakt7-NG “knows” and because of that, he must let every reader walk through the path themselves. 

Once we abandon that childish egocentric idea of “truth;” we can observe that our experiences will shape our consciousness and that in return, our perceptions.

There are many humans suffering in the world. Suffering is part of living. It is part of “growing up” in consciousness. Suffering is also relative: A kid without much to eat and without a good hygiene in India, may not feel that “experience” as suffering, as a kid from the USA that is put into that Indian setting.

So many “well to do” people living in “first world countries,” may experience other types of suffering: Emotional, immune related diseases, mental issues, etc.  as a consequence of their separation from Nature, which the same Indian kid may never know about.

It is that suffering the one that will prompt for a solution. A seeker is born.
God will bring hope to a person. Many experiences will be linked to “God.” In an apparent “insecure” world, where anything could happen; “God” brings that security; the seeker will feel safe under his “protection.” Even though, he may be experiencing “hardships,” the seeker knows that God is with him.

God is necessary, for he will bring hope to many, a turning point in many lives.
All sorts of religions are available for this experience.
Let me repeat one more time: Whether “you” are in the only “truthful” religion or not;  it does not matter a bit.
What matters in Life is the experience that this seeker will be going through, for that will change the consciousness of that person.

Why consciousness is so important?
Because according to our consciousness, we could perceive Life experiences under different lenses. thus, what is the “truth”?
For most people, Life is a struggle. A fight at many levels. In another consciousness, Life is to be enjoyed, relaxed. Nothing to “prove.”

Many want the later consciousness, but it doesn’t happen because “I want” or because “I bought a  spiritual book” or “I followed a guru.” That consciousness will happen as a natural consequence of having experienced other types of consciousness: When there is a saturation of “I” then, a lack of that “I” is what comes naturally next.
Life has its own ways, for that. It may not be necessarily in this life time, but rest assured that nothing happens through randomness. “You” are not forgotten.
Everything that occurs in Life is meant to BE.  A Brahma Kumaris follower is aware of this.  
The “I” struggles to fight against that. So, Do I recommend not to fight?
No. I recommend to observe in ourselves why fighting IS.

Our consciousness will dictate our “truth.”

Understanding the Cycle of time from an unlimited way

For those non-Brahma Kumaris readers; it is my experience that time is cyclical and repetitive, just like Brahma Kumaris teaches. This is not a belief for me, it is an experience. Thus, predestination is the outcome of that cyclical time: Fortune telling is possible and it could be very accurate to the point of knowing your day and time of death.  

The “I” does not like that “concept,” for the “I” likes “free-will.” However, The cycle of time also shows that there is no “I.” Why? If everything repeats, what is that which “I” am doing out of my “own volition”? It is better said: It is done through “me.” But that is not completely accurate… 🙂

Paradoxically, the teachings from Brahma Kumaris about the cycle of time are limited by the presence of the “I.”

If we could grasp that this famous “I” exists in a particular consciousness but in another it doesn’t, then we are ahead from the limited understanding of the cycle of time.

We are, but we are not. That is the main difficulty to understand. For an intellectual, that is illogical, it is not reasonable.

The “I” exists but it doesn’t. When the “I” exists in our consciousness, then there is time (past, present and future) for the point of reference is the “I” NOW. Note, that movement in Life is constant, so “now” is not possible strictly speaking.
When the “I” exists, there is predestination and free will; as both concepts deal with the ability of the “I” to act. There is that duality.

When there is “I,” it is hard to understand how Life, the Drama, could be eternally repetitive.
That “I” invents Success and Failure. Guilt and Pride. Nevertheless, it is contradictory for in a predestined Drama, there is no “I” that could act with his own volition: It is merely a script performed by someone. That one is compelled to act in a certain way. Thus, how is it possible for Brahma Kumaris to teach about “making effort” to “save yourself”? That is the catch.
That is why, despite the fact of predestination, Brahma Kumaris supports the idea of free will: We make our “choices.” 🙂

When the “I” is asleep, ignorant of the different forces influencing his activities… what kind of “choice” is that?

Brainy individuals, someone who is stuck in their own mind; may not like the “concept” of predestination and the eternally repeating cycle of time.
After all, that “nonsense” is not supported by science. The “I” thrives in his “free will” even though that free will, is mere conditioning for 99% of the “free” people in the world today.

When “we move” into a different space of consciousness, little by little we could observe that there is nothing static that we could call “I.” We can put layers of traditions, social conventions and moral values into that “I” to make out of him, something static, unmovable, even permanent…. The “I” loves that!

Everything that exists in the physical realm is cyclical, for it is in continuous change (Life is change.) How many permutations change can have? Many for sure, but it is bound to repeat itself.

It is that repetition what makes “someone” eternal…
Eternity is already “here.” Because we don’t perceive it, we look for it, we believe in eternal things only in the afterlife, etc.

When the “I” is not, then time is not. If time is not, what is there? Eternity.
But yet, we look for “salvation.” In the Brahma Kumaris world, someone believes that “he will be saved” if he experiences a particular “age” such as the Golden age.
That is not accurate, for that “salvation” will finish as the cycle will move on. It is a matter of “time.” 🙂  Everyone has different experiences, none “better” than others, as one experience calls for another, automatically: Peace calls for war and war, for peace.  Different experiences, but complementary of each other in the world of duality.

Someone who has the ability to see the future, is also seeing the past. Thus, past and future are the same thing in a cyclical view of time, and as expressed above, the “now” the present is not. No past, no present , no future.  What is there then?  However, there are times when “telling the truth” about the future is counterproductive to the evolution of a person and sometimes, it is important and even necessary, according to the “Drama.”( Unlimited vision.)

A Being of light, could tell the difference for he is unlimited, a fortune teller; cannot.
When we realize about our own nothingness, the mental concepts such as predestination and free will, could go out of our system for in the “unlimited,” there are no “good or bad” experiences; but only experiences which will help us in our evolution.
As the Brahma Kumaris teaches: The Drama (Life) is beneficial. Even though many do not understand that, and want to DO something to be “saved.”

Every religion has its own heaven

The way we interpret things is according to our experiences and consciousness. This we may call “truth,” but it is a belief which stands because there is no way to check it.

The “heaven” of Christianity is different from the one from Brahma Kumaris. Every follower will believe to have the “truth.”

“Only Brahma Kumaris followers can go to heaven… with the exception of scientists, but these scientists will be there only as subjects.”
That belief is self-supporting.
There is no way to check this, but it is considered to be “true” just because “Baba said it.” He said it, because it is written in the “Murli” and the Murli comes from “God.”
It is a circular belief which starts and ends in the word of God, although; God himself is on the brink of beliefs. Paradoxically, “God” is the experience of very few, which was mass enhanced to be made the belief of the many.

Same with Christians. The belief that the Bible is a book “inspired by God,” is believed by millions of followers. That belief believed by “majorities” is considered to be “true.”

In my time as a BK follower, I wasn’t able to observe the above. Why?
Simply because “I” had “invested” a lot in the BK belief system. “I” couldn’t be “wrong.”
It was easy to leave the Christian belief as it did not require much from me, other than going to mass once in a while, confess to the priest here and there and contribute economically in favor of the church. All those externalities, gave me the name of “Christian” and I was in good standing with my surrounding society.

However, with Brahma Kumaris, it was different.
It was “me” against the belief of the rest. It was “I” who was made different and had knowledge and experience of God himself. It was on “me” to teach the rest, to make “subjects” for “my” kingdom. :-). (As the Murli says.)

Now, it is easy to observe that tremendous “I-ness” which “I” wasn’t able to see before. An experience which gave me a contrast was necessary to awake my awareness and not intellectual knowledge.

In society, my “I” grew by going with the  stream, the current, by following what was supposed to be desirable: A well-paying job, with social status and all of that.
In the BK experience, it was the opposite: My “I” grew by going against the current. “I” was a fish out of the water, desiring to be with the “ocean” of knowledge.

When the “I” experiences both sides, then “no-I” is the next experience.
There, there is no need of a belief in heaven. No “holy” books are required. However, the transformation that this entails will change everything we thought to be “I.”
As Brahma Baba said in the Murlis, it is to “die alive;” however; in the Brahma Kumaris religion, dying alive entails to change the identification of the “I” from the luxuries of society into the activities of the Golden age. But “dying alive” is to die from the “I,” and this cannot happen if there is an identification such as “I am a BK,” for there is “I” in there.

As we could see, it doesn’t matter whether I was “right” before and now I am not. It doesn’t matter if “I had the truth before,” and now I don’t. What matters in my path, is that I have experienced that change in consciousness.
Therefore, how can I say that Brahma Kumaris of Christianity are “wrong” paths? That is not possible. Both of them are necessary. Both of them will offer different things to a seeker.

The “truth” has different colors according to the glasses of consciousness that we wear.

Baba is Karankaravanhar

“Karankaravnahar” is a mouthful word meaning “The one who does through others.”

In Brahma Kumaris it is believed that God “acts” through “instruments” that is typically a Brahma Kumaris adherent.
In Brahma Kumaris, the way to show a humble demeanor is by saying: “I am an instrument. Baba is the one doing.”

Nevertheless, in the Drama no one DOES. Actions manifest through human beings. This is an immediate consequence of believing in “predestination.” How are “you” going to DO things, if those things have been repeating through the eternal repetitive Drama?
That is a point in depth. 

That is how Brahma Kumaris came up with another concept: “it is YOUR fortune.”

For most followers saying that God works through “you” or that your activities and consequences of them are “your” fortune; merely strengthens the idea of being separated from the Totality. That is how the “I” increases in size.

“God is working through me.” “I am only an instrument.”
Big size “I.”

From another perspective, there is no need of God as a separate entity to DO anything through someone else. “God” is part of the eternal repetitive Drama, correct?
Then, the Drama is behind everything. The Drama is the true “Karankaravanhar.”

But something so “impersonal” and “omnipresent” as the Drama cannot be worshiped, loved or romantically attached as “God” could be.
That is the point on choosing a “personal” God.

For those who like deep things, here is another one:
What is “Maya” then, if everything is predestined?

Every “illusion” that a person could be going through, it is part of the experience that this person needs to go through. “Everything in the Drama is beneficial.” Do we remember that teaching? That includes “Maya” as well.
The world of ideas and ideals will not take anyone to a change in consciousness. Neither to learn mouthful words or to add new concepts to a belief system.

As that “I” dissolves into the beauty of Life (Drama,) we liberate ourselves from our mental bondages.
How? Why?
Because the “I” disappears… little by little, like a magic trick.
For many that is a hard to grasp “concept.” However, it is not a “concept” once there is experience. It is only a state of consciousness.
In the meantime, “I” learn the “concept,” “I” repeat it. “I” use it to sound “knowledge-full. That is the way to DO it!  … but not to live it.

For the common good.

Being does not mean to BE something.

The Drama has a path to follow. It moves through the same steps over and over again.
Any person is included in this movement. Some people in this life time, will “improve,” others will not. Different timing.

From our limited (ignorant) perspective, if “I” want to improve “now,” I should DO things to fight and get my way. (“My” idea of improvement.)
Observe that it may not be my time yet. It may be a different life time. Nevertheless, that fight “now” with my destiny, is needed in my Life experience.
Therefore, DOING some practice is not the issue for whether I DO or I don’t, still my destiny will be what it ought to be. In Life, we don’t need to learn to swim with the current or against it. We just need to float and let the current take us. When you know that Life is a circle; What is the hurry? Where do you want to get “first”?
We are sold on the label “improvement.”

What do we typically call “improvement” in “spirituality”?
I use to DO this and now I don’t OR, I didn’t DO that but now I DO.
Everything is in the realm of DOING. That is a “Yogi.” Yogis are using their will power to overcome everything. “I” will make myself DO or don’t DO certain things which I BELIEVE to be right for MY “improvement.”

Out of all the “practices” in my Brahma Kumaris experience as a yogi, the only one  remaining is to be a vegetarian. Certainly, it is not a “practice” for me.

That is natural to me. It was with me even before joining the Brahma Kumaris. I did not make any effort to “practice” that, thus; when the Brahma Kumaris conditioning ended in my path, that is the only thing that remained true to myself.
Everything else was artificially put there through my will power an my beliefs.
Those things went away.

What is natural is what you ARE. Acknowledge that. Learn from that.
Consciousness does not change through opposition of something which we may label as “bad.”
That only allows for a fight to appear, a clash. However, that is not “bad,” for it may be part of someone’s path.
The “I” opposes to something to differentiate from it, but there is nothing solid to define the “I.”

What do we call “I”?
That is the question that continually gets covered with other “nice” labels.
“I” am a soul, a son of God, an angel, a deity, etc.
Those labels will not allow me to look inside and see who “I am.”

Brahma Kumaris knowledge makes a distinct separation between the “I” and the Drama of Life. This separation makes the journey of the yogi.
Nevertheless, the same knowledge points out the repetitive nature of the Drama, its predestined path. The “I” is part of it.
The issue is not whether to DO or not to DO something in Life.  The issue is whether we are conscious, aware of the direction of the current of Life.

You have the right path and the left path. The “right” path is not necessarily to go right all the time. Feel the path. If we are conditioned to believe that the left path is “bad,” we will not be able to feel. The mind usually will set up our lives into narrow paths, the heart feels Life.

Going beyond the repetition

Last article pointed out some shortcomings of disclosing “knowledge” to individuals.

The cycle of time could be a painful “truth” for some when disclosed in Brahma Kumaris classes. The palliative medicine is “Baba has said 75% happiness 25% unhappiness.”
Very few realize the core of the Brahma Kumaris method: The significance of the “I.”
It is that “I” that most individuals perceive as a static, unchanged entity the “true” Maya. This “I” is only “real” at one level of consciousness. The Brahma Kumaris method is effective in increasing this “I” for the follower’s awareness.

There is never a point in our lives when a static entity which we call “I” exists.  Even though it is easy to demonstrate this by just looking at the mirror every day, our awareness does not go deep into our consciousness to observe those changes in our Life journey. Our memories are what binds together the illusion of being the same person, the same “I.” Without memories, what can we call “I”?

Please contemplate the last phrase.
Memories are necessary in this lifetime, so we can play the game in society: “I earned 20K per year, 10 years ago. I earn 35K now.” We call that “improvement.” Who is improving? “I.” Nevertheless, the person now and the one from 10 years ago, both are different, they have different consciousness. Memories are the only link.

That memory becomes a source of fear in Life when we believe that “I” will experience the same thing again, but the one before the experience is different than the one after the experience.

We ARE not the same. Yes, the soul is there as an empty container, but the movie giving us consciousness will be totally different. That is why, there is no one in this Life going to Paradise in the future. Am “I” going to heaven? NO! “I” will not be there. The soul maybe there, but it will have a complete different “software,” different consciousness. Is that “I,” ME?
NO.

When we “die” and take another body; typically, we will not remember our last Life. Have you noticed that?  Lack of memory means newness.
That is how newness will appear “again,” in that empty container which we call “soul.” Therefore, after a cycle there is no memory of what we went through in this Lifetime. Where is that “I” that will go through the same exact experience then?
Nowhere, but in our imagination now.

We are so attached to those memories which are giving us identity. 

To explain the cycle of time could be hurtful without the understanding and hopefully experience of “No-I.”
That is why it was said in another article: Who are you?
I AM and I AM NOT. Both at the same time.
However, “No-I” is not part of the Brahma Kumaris curricula, for their method is meant to increase the “I.”
